Les Bon Temps
Roulette! Let the good times roll. Mardi Gras is just a few weeks away, so it’s
time for gumbo, all things Creole and Cajun, King Cake, and topped off with
some hot Cajun/Zydeco music. Yankee Chank will be in the house cranking out the
tunes. Dance or watch, but enjoy this year’s new line dance for the steamy zydeco numbers. If you can count 1 2, you can do this. Dance
instruction provided.
March 1 is
the annual CCCA Mardi Gras bash/fundraiser at Crows Bakery on Depot Street
Proctorsville. Dinner (6:30-7:30) and dance (7:30 on) is $40. Tickets are available
at Crows Bakery or by calling 802-226-7736.
Not able to
make the dinner portion? Come for the music starting at 7:30 until whenever the
dancers yell Oncle! (Uncle) The dance
only price is $10.
The band is
Yankee Chank. A group of musicians from all over
Vermont, including Bob Naess from Cavendish,
who perform traditional dance music from Southwest Louisiana.
So get your Mardi Gras on! Buy a
ticket and come party on March 1.
