1. Town Meeting Day and Voting: March 1 & March 2
The Annual Town Meeting for Cavendish will take place on Monday, March 1 at 7 pm at the Cavendish Town Elementary School in Proctorsville. Town budget will be first this year. Balloting will take place on March 2, from 10-2 pm at the Cavendish School. Voting information is posted on the town posting boards at the Village Green in Proctorsville (attached to the bus stop) and at the Cavendish Town Office. The Town’s Annual Report includes a Sample Ballot for March 2. School budget voting, for both GMUHS and Cavendish Elementary, are now done by Australian ballot on March 2.

3. Second Photograph of Phineas Gage Found
A second photograph of Phineas Gage has been found. In 1848, Gage, was working on a railroad track in Cavendish when a tamping iron went through his head. Dr. John Harlow documented his injury and recovery in various medical journals, making Gage the first well documented case of traumatic brain injury. This new image, copies of which are in the possession of two different branches of the Gage family, depicts the same subject as the daguerreotype identified in 2009. 4. Cavendish Events for Feb. 26-28
February 26 (Friday): The Black and White Film Series will be screening “42nd Street” at 7pm at the Cavendish Elementary School in Proctorsville.
February 27 (Saturday): Cavendish Snow Flea Snowmobile Ride for Club members, weather and snow conditions permitting. The third group ride for the Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas Snowmobile Club is to the home of Steve Turco on Hawks Mountain. Club members will meet at the club’s Food Shack at 10 a.m. for the ride. Members are to bring their own food and beverages to drink. There will be a grill available at the camp if anyone wants to grill their food. FMI: www.cavendishsnowfleas.com
