sports and other activities Cavendish residents and visitors can take part in.

GYMS: There are
three local opportunities:
• Castle Hill Resort and Spa (Proctorsville): An Aveda
concept spa offers daily, monthly and yearly rates. Includes workout room,
outdoor pool, and tennis courts.
• Ludlow Community Center (old Armory Building): Weight Room/Fitness
Center, locker rooms, meeting rooms, dining room/cafeteria, gymnasium and much
more. Zumba, Yoga, pick up basketball, exercise class and more take place
during the week. FMI: 802-228-2655
• Spring House, Pool and Fitness Center at Jackson Gore (Part of Okemo
Mountain Resort): Indoor and outdoor pools, fitness/weights, exercise and yoga
classes, tennis and more. Day, monthly, seasonal and yearly rates.
SUMMER SPORTS & RECREATION (Boating, fishing, golf, hiking, walking, horseback riding etc.) In
addition to the resources listed in in the Okemo Valley Guide consider the
following:

• Greven Field: Offers walking path, small beach area for wading and
canoe/raft/kayak portage, ball fields and picnic area.
• Cavendish Historical Society offers the following self-guided walks
• Cavendish Community and Conservation Association offers various
conservation activities as well as a Wednesday night music series on the Proctorsville Green-usually July and August.
SPRING/SUMMER PROGRAMS AND CAMPS
• Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts: Includes
programs for adults and children. Cavendish residents receive one class a year
at half price. You will need to pick up a note from the Town Office verifying
that you are a Cavendish resident. Spring
and summer courses are already listed.
• Ludlow Parks and Recreation: Includes programs for
children, adults and seniors
• Six Loose Ladies: Offers a variety of classes for adults
and for children in fiber arts
• The Nature Museum at Grafton (Grafton, VT)
• The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Conservation Camps andTrainings: Camp tuition is $250 per child
• VacationBible School (VBS): Cavendish Baptist Church, 2258 Main Street Cavendish. This year's VBS sends kids on a mission to discover and share God's incredible love! Blast Off! is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear and touch. Team-building games, cool Bible songs, and active Bible adventures are just a few of the activities that help faith flow into real life. Kids will also participate in a service project, called Projects With A Purpose, which will help others in our community. Blast Off! is free for children ages 3 to 12 years and takes place July 14-16 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. A healthy dinner is also included. FMI: (802) 226-7131

NEW FOR SUMMER 2014
Women on the Range: May 30 to June 1 This non-competitive event is designed to
introduce women to the shooting sports with proper instruction and focus on
learning, safety and having fun. Learn the "ins and outs"
of firing a gun and a bow and arrow. Offered by Ludlow Rec
