Select Board Agenda for 7/12/10

The following items will be on the 7/12/10 Select Board Meeting Agenda, which meets at 6:30 pm at the Town Office:

• Ned Swanberg of the Vermont Flood Plain Management Program will be in attendance and will give a 15 minute presentation on Fluvial Erosion Hazards (FEH) specific to the Black River Valley in Cavendish. The Cavendish Planning Commission is considering incorporating FEH language into the Cavendish Flood Hazard Regulations which are being updated. The PC has spent considerable time getting information and discussing FEH issues in the past several months and will likely be requesting the Select Board to consider re-adoption of the Flood Hazard Regulations with needed changes this autumn.

• Town Manager to give summary description of financial intricacies of establishment of a present day town tax rate and to present a proposed FY 2010-2011 Cavendish Tax Rate Schedule for Board review and approval. The tax rate under
consideration is for the fiscal period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

• Town Manager to update the Board on delinquent tax collection activities.

• Town Manager to reintroduce the Board to considerations of an Appraisal Update or Town-wide Reappraisal. This matter was last considered at Town Meeting on March 2, 2010 but was then tabled. Now that the 2010 Grand List is determined and the Town has gone through grievance and BOCA considerations, it is appropriate for the Selectmen to re-examine the issues and consider further action.

• Review progress on realignment of lower Chubb Hill Road.

• Town Manager to review results of applications for 2010 highway grants with the Board
and anticipated work activities relating to same.

• Town Manager to discuss disposition of a small fund started in July of 2003.
