Fatal Accident in Proctorsville

The following accident took place close to the intersection of 103 and 131 near the old Black River Produce building.

On 09/10/13 Vermont State Police along with Chester Police, Proctorville Fire, Ludlow Fire and Ludlow Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle crash between a tractor trailer truck and car, on Vermont Route 103 in Cavendish. Brenton Stilwell was traveling north in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he drifted over the yellow center line and collided with Robert Morris (traveling south) who was driving a 2007 International 9900I tractor trailer truck. Stilwell appears to have not been wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. Stilwell was transported to the Springfield Hospital and pronounced deceased. 


It is still being investigated as to why Stilwell's vehicle traveled over the center line. Morris sustained no injures from this crash but was precautionary transported to Springfield Hospital to be checked. Vt State Police Press Release
